Return Labels
When a customer needs to return a product, you can create a prepaid return shipping label directly from CloudFFL without logging into ShipStation separately.
Creating a Return Label
- Open the ShipStation app.
- Go to Operations > Return Labels.
- Click Create.
- Select your ShipStation Instance.
- Select the original delivery order — this is the order that was shipped to the customer.
- Optionally enter an RMA Number (Return Merchandise Authorization) — this is a reference number for tracking the return internally.
- Choose the Label Format (PDF is most common).
- Click Create Return Label.
What Happens Next
ShipStation generates a return label based on the original shipment. CloudFFL stores:
- The return tracking number
- The carrier and service used
- The cost of the return label
- A download link for the label
The status changes from "Draft" to "Created."
Sending the Label to Your Customer
Click the download link to get the return label file. You can then:
- Email it to your customer
- Print it and include it in a new shipment
- Share it however works best for your shop
Tip: Return labels are only charged when the customer actually uses them. If a return label is never scanned by the carrier, you will not be billed for it.
