Shipping Carriers

When you sync your ShipStation account with CloudFFL, all of your shipping carriers are imported automatically. A carrier is a shipping company — like UPS, FedEx, or USPS — that you have an account with in ShipStation.

Viewing Your Carriers

  1. Open the ShipStation app.
  2. Click Carriers in the left menu.
  3. You will see a list of all the carriers synced from your ShipStation account.

Each carrier shows:

  • Name — The carrier name (e.g., "UPS", "FedEx")
  • Carrier Code — A short code used behind the scenes (e.g., "ups", "fedex")
  • Nickname — A custom name you may have set in ShipStation
  • Primary — Whether this is your main carrier
  • Balance — If the carrier requires a funded account (like stamps.com for USPS), this shows your current balance
  • Services — How many shipping speed options are available (Ground, 2-Day, Overnight, etc.)
  • Packages — How many package types are available (Small Box, Flat Rate Envelope, etc.)

Carrier Services

Each carrier offers different shipping speeds called "services." For example, UPS might offer:

  • UPS Ground
  • UPS 2nd Day Air
  • UPS Next Day Air

To see the services for a carrier, click on the carrier name and then look at the Services tab. Each service shows whether it works for domestic shipments, international shipments, or both.

Package Types

Carriers also offer specific package types. For example, USPS offers:

  • Flat Rate Envelope
  • Small Flat Rate Box
  • Medium Flat Rate Box
  • Large Flat Rate Box

To see available package types, click on a carrier and look at the Packages tab. Package types include dimensions (length, width, height) when applicable.

Refreshing Carrier Data

Carriers are synced automatically when you click Sync All on your ShipStation instance. If you add a new carrier in ShipStation, just go back to your instance and click Sync All again to pull in the changes.

Tip: You do not need to manually create carriers in CloudFFL. They are always imported from ShipStation. If a carrier is missing, check that it is active in your ShipStation account and then run a sync.
