Connecting Your Authorize.net Account

Connecting Your Authorize.net Account

Now that the Authorize.net module is installed, you need to link it to your actual Authorize.net merchant account. This involves copying a few credentials from the Authorize.net dashboard into CloudFFL.

What You Need

Before you start, gather these three pieces of information from your Authorize.net account:

  • API Login ID — a unique identifier for your account (not your email or username)
  • Transaction Key — a private key that authorizes CloudFFL to process payments on your behalf
  • Signature Key — used to verify that payment notifications actually came from Authorize.net

Never share your Transaction Key or Signature Key with anyone. These are like passwords for your payment account. If you suspect they have been compromised, generate new ones immediately from your Authorize.net dashboard.

Where to Find Your Credentials in Authorize.net

  1. Log in to your Authorize.net account at
    https://account.authorize.net
  2. Go to Account → Settings → API Credentials & Keys.
  3. Your API Login ID is displayed at the top of this page.
  4. To get a Transaction Key, click New Transaction Key. You may need to enter a secret answer or confirm via email. Copy the key immediately — it is only shown once.
  5. To get a Signature Key, scroll down on the same page to the Signature Key section and click Generate. Copy this key as well.

Enter Your Credentials in CloudFFL

  1. In CloudFFL, go to Accounting → Configuration → Payment Providers.
  2. Click Authorize.net to open its settings.
  3. Click the Credentials tab.
  4. Enter your API Login ID in the API Login ID field.
  5. Enter your API Transaction Key in the API Transaction Key field.
  6. Enter your Signature Key in the Signature Key field.
  7. Click the Generate Client Key button. This creates a public key that powers the secure payment form your customers will see. CloudFFL fills this in automatically after you click the button.
  8. Set the Account Currency to USD (or whichever currency your Authorize.net account uses).
  9. Set the State to Test Mode for now. You will switch to live mode after you verify everything works.
  10. Click Save.

When you set the state to Test Mode, CloudFFL automatically sends transactions to the Authorize.net sandbox (test) endpoint. You do not need to change any URLs or toggle a separate sandbox setting. Use the test card number

4111 1111 1111 1111
with any future expiration date to verify your setup.

Switching to Live Mode

Once you have confirmed that test transactions go through successfully:

  1. Go back to Accounting → Configuration → Payment Providers → Authorize.net.
  2. Change the State from Test Mode to Enabled.
  3. Click Save.

CloudFFL will now process real payments through your Authorize.net account.
