Going Live — Test Mode to Production

After you have verified that test payments work correctly, it is time to switch to live (production) mode so you can accept real payments.

Pre-Launch Checklist

  1. Test payment succeeded — You processed at least one test transaction and it appears in your NMI console
  2. Refund tested — You refunded the test transaction and it processed correctly
  3. POS payment method configured — If using POS, the NMI payment method is added to your POS session
  4. Receipt/invoice shows payment — The payment is recorded correctly on the CloudFFL invoice or POS receipt

Switching to Production

  1. Go to Settings → Payment Providers → NMI
  2. Change the State from Test Mode to Enabled
  3. Save

That is it. All future transactions will now process as real charges through your NMI merchant account.

Tip: Process your first real transaction with a small amount (like $1.00) and refund it immediately. This confirms everything works end-to-end with real banking connections before you start processing customer sales.
