Barcode Scanners
Barcode Scanners
A barcode scanner speeds up everyday tasks like receiving inventory, processing sales, and doing stock counts. Instead of typing product names or SKUs, you just scan the barcode and CloudFFL finds the right product instantly.
Compatible Scanners
CloudFFL works with virtually any USB barcode scanner. These scanners act like a keyboard — when you scan a barcode, the scanner "types" the barcode number into whatever field is active on screen.
Popular options:
- Honeywell Voyager 1200g / 1250g — Affordable and reliable
- Zebra DS2208 / DS4608 — Reads 1D and 2D barcodes
- Socket Mobile S700 — Bluetooth wireless scanner
Setup
For USB wired scanners, setup is simple:
- Plug the scanner into a USB port on your computer.
- That is it. No special drivers or software needed in most cases.
For Bluetooth wireless scanners:
- Pair the scanner with your computer or tablet via Bluetooth settings.
- The scanner works just like a USB scanner once paired.
Enabling Barcode Scanning in CloudFFL
- Go to Inventory → Configuration → Settings.
- Under Operations, enable Barcodes.
- Click Save.
Using the Scanner
- Receiving inventory: On a receipt form, click in the product field and scan — the product auto-fills
- Stock counts: During physical inventory, scan items to count them quickly
- Sales: On a sales order, scan a product to add it to the order lines
Tip: Make sure your products have barcodes entered in their records (the Barcode field on the product form). The scanner can only find products if the barcode in the system matches what is on the physical item.
