Setting Up Receipt Printers

Receipt printers let you print small transaction receipts for customers at the point of sale. This is common in retail shops where customers expect a printed receipt with their purchase.

Compatible Printers

CloudFFL works with standard USB thermal receipt printers. Common models include:

  • Epson TM-T20III — Reliable and widely used in retail
  • Star TSP143 — Another popular choice for small businesses
  • Star mC-Print3 — Supports USB, Ethernet, and Bluetooth

Basic Setup

  1. Connect the receipt printer to your computer via USB cable.
  2. Install the printer driver from the manufacturer's website if needed (most modern printers are plug-and-play).
  3. In CloudFFL, receipt printing is used primarily with the Point of Sale (POS) app if enabled.
  4. Go to Point of Sale → Configuration → Settings and configure your receipt printer under the hardware section.

Tip: If you are using CloudFFL primarily for back-office operations (not a POS terminal), you may not need a receipt printer. Standard invoices and quotations can be printed on a regular office printer.

Using an IoT Box

For advanced setups, Odoo offers an IoT Box — a small device that connects printers, scanners, and other hardware to CloudFFL over your network. This is optional but useful if you have multiple workstations sharing the same printer.
