Connecting Your FastBound Account

Connecting Your FastBound Account

Before CloudFFL can communicate with FastBound, an administrator must set up the connection. This is a one-time setup that links your FastBound cloud account to your CloudFFL system.

Admin Only: Only users in the FastBound Admin security group can create and edit FastBound account configurations. If you do not see the Configuration menu, ask your system administrator.

What You Need Before Starting

  • Your FastBound API Key — Found in your FastBound cloud account under Account Settings → API
  • Your FastBound Account ID (also called Account Number) — Displayed in your FastBound account dashboard
  • Admin access to CloudFFL (member of the fastbound_admin security group)

Step-by-Step: Create the Connection

  1. Navigate to FastBound → Configuration → FastBound Accounts
  2. Click the New button to create a new configuration
  3. Fill in the following fields:
    • API Key — Paste your FastBound API key exactly as it appears in your FastBound account
    • Account ID — Enter your FastBound account number
    • Base URL — This defaults to https://cloud.fastbound.com. Do not change this unless specifically instructed by CloudFFL support.
  4. Click Test Connection — This sends a test request to FastBound to verify your credentials are correct
  5. If the test succeeds, you will see a green success message
  6. Change the State from Draft to Active to enable the connection
  7. Click Save

Tip: The configuration has three states: Draft (not connected), Active (connected and working), and Inactive (temporarily disabled). You can deactivate a configuration without deleting it if you need to pause the connection for any reason.

Multiple Companies

If your business operates under multiple companies in Odoo, each company can have its own FastBound account configuration. This is useful if you have separate FFL licenses for different locations — each location connects to its own FastBound account.
