Scrap & Write-Off
Scrap & Write-Off
When a product is damaged, defective, or otherwise needs to be removed from your inventory without being sold, you use the Scrap feature. This removes the product from your available stock and creates a record of why it was removed.
When to Scrap
- A firearm is discovered to be defective and is being returned to the manufacturer
- Ammunition is damaged (water damage, crushed boxes)
- An accessory is broken and cannot be sold
- An item was used as a display/demo and is no longer sellable
Step by Step
- Go to Inventory → Operations → Scrap.
- Click New.
- Select the Product you are scrapping.
- Enter the Quantity being scrapped.
- The Source Location auto-fills with your stock location.
- Click Validate to complete the scrap.
What Happens
- The product quantity is reduced in your inventory
- The items are moved to a virtual "Scrap" location for record-keeping
- A record of the scrap is saved with the date and user who performed it
Important: For firearms being scrapped or returned to the manufacturer, make sure to update your FastBound records as well. Scrapping in CloudFFL handles the inventory side only — compliance records need separate attention.
Tip: Keep scrapped products documented for insurance and tax purposes. The scrap records in CloudFFL provide this documentation automatically.
