What are Routes?
What are Routes?
Routes tell CloudFFL how to get products when they are needed. For most FFL dealers, the concept is simple: when you need more stock, you buy it from a distributor. That is the "Buy" route.
Common Routes
- Buy — Purchase the product from a vendor/distributor. This is the most common route for FFL dealers.
- Resupply — Move products between warehouses (only relevant if you have multiple locations like a storefront and a separate warehouse).
How Routes Are Set
Each product can have a route assigned to it. When you need more of that product, CloudFFL uses the route to determine the right action — in most cases, suggesting a purchase order.
Do You Need to Worry About Routes?
For a typical single-store FFL dealer, the default "Buy" route is all you need. Routes become more important if you have multiple warehouses or use manufacturing (which most FFL dealers do not).
Tip: CloudFFL comes pre-configured with the Buy route. In most cases, you do not need to change anything about routes unless you have an unusual setup.
